If SAEN has been on your radar for some time now, you know we strive to keep things transparent, and keep you updated on all the latest happening behind the scenes. Today, we’re taking that one step further, by inviting you to join us there! SAEN is once again opening its doors to those passionate about the arts, curious about non-profit work, and committed to playing a part in he

lping SAEN grow.

The Readiness Program, which offers thorough and comprehensive, hands-on training over the course of 22 weeks, is about to start its newest cycle, and we have a myriad of open roles! Each one lends itself to different areas of specializations and interests, and thanks to the flexible nature of the job, with each one you’ll have the chance to get a feel for the others! You don’t need to be an expert to apply! All you need is the ability to commit to the program, which is designed to work with your schedule, and a willingness to learn! Keep reading to learn which positions we’re seeking applicants for, how to apply, and when!

The Partnerships & Corporate Outreach Coordinator will help manage relationships with companies and community partners. Applicants should be proficient in professional writing, relationship building, and follow through.

The Fundraising & Development Coordinator offers support to SAEN’s financial and fundraising efforts, and should have knowledge of how to budget, donor stewardship, and strong communication skills.

The Events & Community Engagement Coordinator will aid in supporting SAEN’s relationships with vendors, sponsors, artists, volunteers, and community organizers. Applicants should possess strong problem-solving skills, and a feel for outreach and logistics.

The Grant Research & Development Coordinator will help SAEN find and apply for artists grants and proposals. Candidates should be interested in the workings of non-profits, writing, and research, and possess strong attention to detail.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator focuses on growing SAEN’s audience, marketing strategy, and campaign and digital promotions. Applicants should be familiar with social media and analytics, and enjoy thinking creatively.

The Media & Creative Production Coordinator will be responsible for documenting SAEN’s programs, events, campaigns, and community impact through photography, video, and creative production. Applicants should be familiar with photography, video, editing, and social media.

The Data, Impact & Evaluation Coordinator will help create a reliable and organized data system that allows SAEN to accurately gage its analytics, such as community impact, partnerships, and participation. Applicants should be familiar with spreadsheets and data organization, as well as reporting.

In each of these positions, you’ll get the chance to collaborate with others working within SAEN, and gain a full understanding of the mechanics of what makes a non-profit tick. If you’re a student looking to break into the working world, the Readiness Program was made for you. And if you’re not a student, but someone looking to gain new skills and learn about a new sector of non-profit work, then you can enroll in our bootcamps! These are programs built to train participants in non-profit work, arts management, and entrepreneurship, without the full commitment the Readiness Program requires.

And it is a commitment! The Readiness Program requires 10 hours of work a week to fulfill all of the responsibilities that come with your given position, as well as the actual training in non-profit work. It may sound like a lot, but the nature of the program shapes your schedule, and the support that’s offered to participants every step of the way makes it not only doable, but incredibly enjoyable and rewarding. And I should know! I’ve done it.

As the current cycle comes to a close,  recruitment efforts are in full swing! In two weeks, SAEN will be at Hunter College’s job fair looking for the ideal candidates to build out our team. Applications are also open on our website; just navigate to the ‘programs’ tab, and scroll down until you see the “Apply Now” button.

SAEN is working hard to keep the arts not just accessible, but a feasible option for those who want to dedicate their lives to it and also be able to maintain a good quality of life. If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, and you have a vested interest in gaining hands-on learning experience, don’t hesitate! Apply today for the chance to become a part of something great. And if taking part in any of our programs isn’t for you, you can still offer support to SAEN and its participants by donating to the cause. Just circle back around to our home page and find the fundraising campaign towards the bottom. We can't wait to see what this next year brings for SAEN, and we hope you'll be a part of whatever exciting opportunities come knocking at our door.
