This week, take a look at some opportunities coming up later this month! With a collection of diverse media based programs, some specifically for New York based artists and some international, these calls offer something for everyone, opening doors you may not have even realized you've been waiting to walk through!

Liu Shiming Foundation
The 2026 Liu Shiming artist grant application is now open! Designed to support artists in the first decade of their career, this opportunity is eligible to artists who have been working for at least two years - anyone who received a studio art degree between 2016-2024, or had a debut gallery show / participated in a juried exhibition between 2016-2026. Up to five winners are selected each year to receive a grant of $5,000, to support work that engages with traditional or historic themes in contemporary practices.

News Creator Corps
The News Creator Corps’ Trusted Creator Fellowship is designed for aspiring content creators, and acts as a training module for digital media skills. Through virtual meetings that span the 8-week course, participants will learn how to communicate effectively via social media platforms and gain a greater understanding of the responsibility that comes with spreading information. Additionally, creators who complete the program receive a stipend of $5,000.

MTA Call for Artists
The MTA is seeking art for display at three Queens stations: Parsons Blvd, Briarwood, and Jamaica-179 St. Winning designs will be displayed in the style of a mosaic, or behind glass, at an estimated 475- 600 sq ft. Applicants can submit a proposal, and once final candidates are chosen, work with site-specific instructions to bring their assigned station to life! Winners also receive compensation of $1,250.

NYC Culture & Arts in Roundtable

The NYC Arts in Education Roundtable has launched their 2026 Mentorship program, designed to help those early in their careers establish the necessary skills for longevity and advancement in art-related administrative positions. Over the course of 7 months, up to 20 candidates will be paired with mentors who will provide them with funds, professional coaching, and community connections to help them start their careers off right!

Design Trust for Public Space
Design Trust is seeking applicants for their 2026-27 Photo Urbanism Fellowship, with an open call for photographers. The theme of this year, Untaped, focuses on the dynamics of New York City’s public spaces, transforming them into places of imagination and joy. The winner will get the opportunity for a solo exhibition and mentor a cohort of student photographers!
