Funding Friday: What the Art and Business Worlds are Offering

This week’s opportunities are centered around rounding out your creative and personal life! Each one has either been designed to change your life, or offers you a chance to change someone else’s. Whether it’s encouraging social change or surrounding yourself with new people, culture, or environments, engaging in any of this week’s programs ensures a pathway to a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. 

The Lewis Center for the Arts 

The Lewis Center has opened its applications for Hodder fellowship, geared specifically towards artists who specialize in dance, musical theater, visual arts, and music. This fellowship, during which artists spend 10 months developing independent projects at Princeton University, offers a $93,000 stipend and encourages a blend of intellectual and creative growth. Applicants should have an established body of work they can include in their application, which is open to both domestic and international candidates.

WIPO Switzerland Fellowship

WIPO, or the World Intellectual Property Organization, is seeking students in the last year of their bachelor's degree, working towards their masters, or recent graduates to intern in Geneva, Switzerland for anywhere between 2-12 months. This program allows candidates the opportunity to engage in international business, immerse themselves in Swiss culture, and work “at the forefront of innovation and creativity”. Selected applicants are also awarded a stipend of 1,645 to 2,170 francs.

Foundation House Residency 

The Foundation House Artist Residency Program, located in Greenwich, CT, is opening its doors! For 10 days, six residents will be welcomed onto their 75-acres of land to explore, unwind, and create. Private lodging, complimentary meals, and a stipend are all offered with the intention of facilitating a community of creatives who will workshop and lift one another up as they complete their creative projects over the course of their stay, that align with the Foundation Houses’ mission of mental, environmental, and social health.

Heragenda Breakthrough Grant

Heragenda is accepting grant applications! The Breakthrough Grant is designed to empower the next generation of women entrepreneurs, and is fully funded by a community dedicated to seeing women break down barriers of every kind. If you’re a woman looking to start your own business, or you have one that could benefit from the support of a wonderful community, don’t hesitate to apply!

Broadway Advocacy Coalition

The BAC is offering Rapid Response Micro Grants of $1000 to activist artists who engage with the issues of systemic racism and/or mass incarceration on both national and international levels, in narrative-based projects. Open to both individual artists and collectives, this opportunity is meant to mobilize artists and enact change on a widespread scale. No formal art experience required!
